Weakness is the new strength

Many of us think, and have believed, that we are not perfect because of our weaknesses. But do you know that it is through you weaknesses that you are made perfect in God?

Take a look at this verse:

"...My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness."
[ 2 Corinthians 12:9 ]

You see, your weakness is not something you have to be ashamed of. I am not telling you to be proud because of the many weaknesses you have, but if there is something you want to boast about, let it be your weakness, as mentioned in:

"If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness."
[ 2 Corinthians 11:30 ]

Accepting your weakness is a way of expressing your trust in God—by believing that He can makes all things possible despite what you think you are not able to do in the most logical way. Do not be surprised if the dreams that God has planted in you seem impossible and unachievable by looking at yourself now. You will never have guessed how God will help you overcome your weaknesses and before you know it, something which was once considered as a weakness is now a strength you can use to glorify God.

Then you might wonder:

Why, God, do I have so many weaknesses?

1. You can see God at work.
2. Only unto Him are all the glory.
3. You know that it is by His grace, not your own capability.
4. You will not allow pride to pull you away from God.
5. Nothing is impossible to God.

Having said all these, you have to also take note that:

1. It does not mean that God does not use you for your strengths. He has blessed each and individual one of us with various talents. Use them for His glory!

2. You can recognize your strengths, but never to forget that they all come from God.

3. Having weaknesses does not make you a failure, because "The Lord will make you the head, not the tail." [ Deutronomy 28:13 ]

So let's all start by thanking God for who we are and the great we are going to be!

3 things that make it difficult to obey God's word

Most of us always say to God, "I will do anything that You ask me to," but most of the time, when God gives instructions, there is always a hesitation. Hesitation sends us into deeper consideration of factors and gradually, it is going to lead us into the 3 big factors that make it difficult to obey God's word.

1. Fear

We are often afraid that if we follow where God is leading us to, we might end up getting harmed, or simply having something bad happens to us. Similar situation happened to King Zedekiah in Jeremiah 38:14-23. When God ordered him to surrender to the officers of the king of Babylon, King Zedekiah was afraid [v19] that he would be handed over to the Jews who have gone over to Babylonians and ended up mistreated by them.

As a matter of fact, it is normal for us to fear of what is to come when we do not know what exactly lies ahead. We should stop spending too much time fearing of the outcome and just follow God's word, for only Him who knows what His plans are. We have got to trust that He always gives what is best for us. "Obey the Lord... Then it will go well with you..." [v20]

2. Worry

One of the bad habits we Christians find difficult to get rid of is worry. Often we put our trust in God during times of troubles, but worry still lingers around. Because of this, when God calls us to do something, we worry. We worry about various things—what if I cannot meet my needs, what if I cannot do this anymore, what if I don't know how to, what if...

Stop worrying about the future. As mentioned in Matthew 6:25-34, there is no need to worry of what will become of us, because we are more valuable than birds, which are even taken good care of. You might have different needs and wants, and you worry that where God is bringing you will interfere with them. But remember, when you seek His kingdom first, "...all these things will be given to you as well." [v33]

3. Possession

This last point is the one that we find most difficult to let go of. It does not only include material goods or money that we own, but also relationships, jobs, and hobbies. It is when we have to let go of our possessions, that we can feel the difficulty of sacrificing.

In Luke 18:8-23, a man asked of the requirements of following Jesus. All commandments he  could keep, but his wealth was impossible to let go. When Jesus asked him to sell off everything he possessed, "... he became very sad, because he was a man of great wealth." [v23] Indeed, it is extremely hard for us to get rid of what we hold dear, and sometimes it causes us to put our priorities in the wrong order.

So friends, stop letting these 3 things from holding back your step of faith. Do not fear of harm, nor worry about the future, the Lord knows the plans He has for you [Jeremiah 29:11]. If following God's word means you have to let go of something, do it, because "no one who has left home or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of God will fail to receive many times as much in this age and, in the age to come, eternal life." [Luke 18:29]

食物

虽然我不觉得饿，但我又控制不了吃了一大块巧克力面包。从小到大，食物在我生命中包括是‘重要’事物之一.

可是，世上的食物是无法长久在我们肚子里，最多也是几天罢了。在我们生命里，只有一种食物是可以聚在我们身灵，与我们共同度过一生。

那就是从神嘴里说出的每一句旨令。只有在圣经里记下的‘食物’可以使我们饱到永远。

朋友们，不要忘记‘吃‘，别等到我们过饿了才开始找食物。

Surely, our faith is strengthened by reading His word and keeping it in our hearts :)

While listening to Hillsong's 'At the Cross', something 'je-grengggg' in me, especially at this part of the song:
"...where Your blood was shed for me, there's no greater love than this."

Then I was reminded of this:
• Romans 5:7-8
"Very rarely will one die for a righteous man, though for a good man one might possibly die for. But God demonstrates His love for us in this: WHILE WE WERE STILL SINNERS, CHRIST DIED FOR US."

It is not like what people always say, 'love is blind', because it means that 'you love someone so much, that you don't see his/her ugly sides.'

   "How can it be love
   if it is blind
   for it does not see what's behind

   Blindness can no longer exist
   for it is God who sees

   The veil has already been torn
   when God sent a son of His own

   Surely then
   love is never blind
   it just surpasses all that's not fine"

Thus, remember this...
God's love for us is not blind, for He sees and He knows every ugly side of us. Still, He loves us so greatly. It is not because He can't see the mistakes we make, or He doesn't know of the wrong steps we take, but it's because He knows them all.

Truly, there's no greater love than that of God's :)
